Welcome to the PLAN (Parent Leadership Advocacy Network) Program
The PLAN program, an initiative of the Tampa Bay Academy of Hope, is committed to supporting parents across Hillsborough, Polk, and Pasco Counties. Our mission is to empower parents by offering a comprehensive suite of resources, services, and networking opportunities tailored to the unique challenges and needs of families in our community.
Our Offerings
- Evidence-Based Parenting Classes
Our classes, based on the Nurturing Skills Curriculum, provide practical guidance and proven strategies for effective parenting. These sessions cover essential topics such as child development, communication techniques, and positive discipline, helping parents build stronger, healthier relationships with their children.
- Resource Hub
PLAN serves as a valuable resource hub, connecting parents with information on local services, support networks, and community programs. Whether you are looking for childcare, healthcare, educational resources, or financial assistance, our team is here to help you navigate the wealth of options available in your area.
- Networking Opportunities
Join our community of parents for regular networking events where you can meet others, share experiences, and learn from each other. These gatherings provide a relaxed atmosphere for building connections, discussing challenges, and celebrating successes.

Improving Nurturing and Advocacy Skills for parents...For the Love of Learning and the love of our children...
The PLAN program at Tampa Bay Academy of Hope is dedicated to empowering parents in Hillsborough, Polk, and Pasco Counties by providing evidence-based parenting education through the Nurturing Skills Curriculum. We create a supportive environment where parents can openly discuss parenting strategies, learn the do's and don'ts, and access a network of peers and community resources. Our mission is to strengthen families by fostering communication, relaxation, and collaboration, ultimately enhancing the well-being and success of both parents and children.
TBAH teaches parents the techniques of advocating for their children. We provide education and employment training, parenting, financial literacy, healthcare, and life skills to our parents through this network. Parent meetings are held once a week.
Research shows that when parents are involved in their children's education the children are most likely to:
- earn better grades.
- score higher on test.
- pass their classes.
- attend school regularly.
- have better social skills.
- show improved behavior.
- be more positive in their attitude toward school.
- complete homework assignments.
- graduate and continue their education.
Building parent involvement is the single most important goal of our parent groups. It is also the most difficult task. There are many compelling reason why parents--all parents--should get involved in their children's education.
